Flawed Mounting Design
Quality is excellent. Tap on-Tap Off activation on this new model is a big improvement over the side to side switch on the original. Under recoil, the front mounting point comes loose on a regular basis. Its not a quality issue - its a poor design choice. LaserMax should supply a longer locking bolt pin for the revolver and use that as their front anchor point.
The model for the Ruger LCR uses a different front mounting system which should be much more secure.

Best cord reel I've found

Tang too thick to fit genuine Colt
This part is not dimensionally within specifications. The tang portion is too thick. It can be forced into place but then is basically a press fit and will not move under spring pressure.
My gun is Colt Mk IV Series 70 Gov't Model (pre-UAW) made in 1976. So there is no chance that the frame is at fault.
Pay more and buy an in spec one somewhere else.
