Classic REM
There's pretty much nothing left to say about this album, sounds so much better on vinyl, Out of time, REM'S most successful albums in terms of sales, quite possibly down to the chart success of"losing my religion" and the tour that converted millions of people to Michael Stipe's vocals, sure, as popular as this album was, they went on to make sonically better music after this, this was the one REM record that turned the band's fortune's in the uk and Europe
and the one album that most people bought, even if they never bought anything else by the band
Not their best, imho, but their best remembered

Essential listening
Really good recording for what is essentially a bootleg, the show itself is a real eclectic mix of old and new stuff and Bowie is in good voice ( and good humour ) Special mention for Mike Garson, and a rare outing for drive in Saturday, my favourite track from Aladdin Sane , if you're a fan of the man this should really be in your collection, rather than some of the godawful bootlegs that are out there

NWW at their most accessible
For those in the know, Nurse with wound are Steven Stapleton is a genius, admittedly his take on " music " is unique, difficult to put into words, listening is the best way to appreciate the insane world of nww is to listen
Always inventive, left field electronics, cut up tape samples, the occasional real instruments if you can pick them out amongst the cacophony of bells, drills, percussion and synths, quite often humorous, his sound will lead you down many dark pathways, not for background music, oh no, this has to be listened to, just when you think you've sussed out what's going on it goes off on yet another tangent
A dimly lit room at night is recommended, or perhaps headphones is the best way to appreciate Steve's work, as I said not for everyone but NWW don't worry about that, it is what it is and I love it
Think of any synth/electronic ( hate that term ) " band " you've heard over your life and you won't get anywhere near the NWW world of sound
