The Small Back Room (DVD, 2008, Criterion Collection) region 1

“Small Back Room” rare OOP Criterion
Right after they finished “The Red Shoes,” arguably their masterpiece, Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger, decided to make a small, b&w picture, and they did a great job on that one too. It is a much more modest effort, but just as polished.
Kind Hearts and Coronets (DVD, 2006, 2-Disc Set) The Criterion Collection OOP
    08 Jun, 2021
OOP Criterion edition of classic Alec Guinness film
KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS is justifiably famous as of of Sir Alec’s greatest films as well as one of Ealing Studios’ best. Although the humor is very dry to our “modern” American tastes, the film is quite remarkable for all of the characters (8, I believe) played by Sir Alec, sometimes with 2 on screen at once. Brilliant!
