Well built, slightly fiddly to adjust but does a great job
Great for the price and seems well built; reassuringly heavy. The depth adjustment operation is a little "sticky" but with a little persistence it is possible to set it up within a few 10th of a mm. I suspect a judicious application of Vaseline or similar between the body and adjuster/base plate of the unit would fix the stickiness but I did not want to risk staining the doors I was cutting so I have not tried that.
My main reason for buying this was to cut rectangular butt hinge rebates in hardwood doors and once set up I have achieved repeatable results with it without having to reset the depth. The depth guide has also proved reliable allowing me to cut the hinge depth direct with the router and just tidy up the top and bottom edges to finish the job.
Not sure how long it will last but at the price it has already justified its existence in my workshop and I have no reason to think it will not run well out of the warranty period.
