Very high quality publication ) worth every penny spent.
Robert Gratton, in his companion book on the Leek and Maniford Light Railway, virtually re-defined the standard for this type of book. He continued the series with the Ashover Light Railway maintaining the extremely high standards of research, detail and presentation. They both cover the history of the line, and in-depth look at the route (including sole excellent maps), and some of the best drawings of locomotives and rolling stock that I have ever come across. Now that both books are out of print, you are lucky to get a copy at three times the original published selling price: Even with that elevated price, these books are worth every penny spent.

Excellent and affordable track-work
This is an excellent product that is well worth the price. Composing injection moulded plastic for the sleepers and chair assemblies, aluminium rail and metal screws to hold everything together, this track was easy to assemble with nothing more than an appropriately sized hex socket head and took less than 30 minutes. The wood grain finish on the sleepers is very realistic although only present on the top surface. The internal structure of the sleepers is hollow with plastic bracing. It is well suited to its role as a display track. However, I also suspect that panels of this track would also suit a garden railway, so long as you don't intend to personally ride it as the track fittings are not designed for this purpose.
Highly recommended.

Well written book covering history of this early railway.
An excellent account of the history and development of this early railway in Cornwall. An in depth and compelling read. The chapter on the old Brunel timber viaducts is particularly interesting.
