Superb old time, honest family comedy
A Charming light hearted piece of comedy family viewing. Rex Harrison performances always leave you with a smile on your face and this one is a classic straight out of the top draw. In these days of indulgent CGI, sex and mindless violence, its refreshing to be able to sit back and watch acting by people who didn't do it just for the money.

Disappointing Carry On
0 of 1 found this helpful I had an idea what this would be like before whatching it. There is a definite departure from the recipe that made the better of the Carry On films what they were. In the complete series collection there are a number of what we're called Carry On Laughing TV programmes. The 'Christmas' editions are very much like them. They are fairly poor in that they appear very forced and overly lewd and slapstick. There are occasions where you can almost sense a "what am l doing this for" air, with characters almost whincing at the lines expected to come forth. Hattie Jaques most of all must have felt mostly redundant and lm afraid the Frankie Howard just looked bewildered. My guess is that the extra money was the attraction, despite the fact that the cast were not exactly showered with cash for these films/short programs in the first place. They could have been worse l suppose, thank God they didn't ask Phil Silvers to put in an appearance. Of the 30 'original' films you could say that 3 were great 6 more were good, 10 were watchable and 11 were 'so so' to bad. The films in general were seen for nostalgia with a third being entertaining.
The 'Christmas' films were not. They were too much like the 'Laughing' series and highlighted how little further some of the films would have to go to become pretty awful.

Almost excellent
Nicely designed with clear display. This product gives the user the info that others don't. It's only misgivings is that it really need a universal joint. If your lighter/auxiliary port is horizontal in your dashboard then the sing joint that it has is ok to the task as you can rotate the display towards you. However, if you have a vertical port, you can not see the display from the drivers position. The single joint allows only an up/down motion to keep the display horizontal. Having said that, l can forgive this minor disappointment because of the build quality of the item.
