Iggy Pop And The Stooges' last stand, live, 1973-'74

This CD has live songs which were meant to be recorded in a studio for a fourth Stooges album in 1973. It never happened as the band was imploding and split up soon after - to then re-unite in 2003. Some of the songs are quite good and James Williamson's guitar-playing and Scott Thurston's electric piano are definitely highlights. Recommended for fans of Iggy Pop (who's a household name now) and The Stooges, possibly the main precursors of what a few years later became Punk Rock. Some of these recordings have been "cleaned up" and released on different albums.

The best early recordings by "The first family of Gospel"

2-CD compilation of some of the early and best songs by "The first family of Gospel". The Staple Singers were led by father Roebuck "Pops" Staples who performed with his four children, of whom daughter Mavis Staples was the star singer. Pops Staples learned directly from the legendary Charlie Patton, the father of Mississippi Delta Blues who recorded many Blues classics in 1928-1934. This CD seemed brand-new, in very good condition. It includes their earliest recordings on Vee-Jay Records. Songs of joy, togetherness and redemption by one of the best Gospel group ever.
