Thrustmaster - T.16000M FCS Flight Pack - Black
    30 Mar, 2021
Amateur pilots can play Flight Simulator properly now
I'm not a professional pilot, never even had a lesson, I just wanted to dream a little and play some Flight Simulator 2020. The keyboard controls quickly amounted to frustration as even a simple Cessna veered violently around due to lack of precision. So I knew I wanted something grander, a little more realistic, for a game that works so hard to emulate aircraft. While I wasn't about to build a three-screen fully realistic cockpit, I figured SOME flight controls were in order. Without breaking the bank, the T16000 FCS Flight Pack gives you everything you need out of the box, and even automatically is recognized and preconfigured by FS2020. It even has little graphics in the game's configuration screen. The controls themselves are smooth and easily glide around, and instantly my dreams of flight were slightly more realized.
    Noctua NH-D15 SSO2 D-Type Premium CPU Cooler, NF-A15 x 2 PWM Fans

    Fantastic cooling solution, but huge
I bought this for a computer I'm using near audio recording equipment. It is to be under demand so the 8-core / 4GHz CPU is going to heat up quick! The original stock cooler that came with the CPU just screamed ear-piercing noise at high speeds. Near silence was the priority here. The Noctua NH-D15 uses Noctua's really-awesomely-quiet fan line, so the noise level is absolutely minimal. The general size of the fans also mean they don't need to turn as fast to move a lot of air and thus adequately cool the system. I didn't even need to add the optional speed reducers that were included in the kit. However, it is worth noting that the standard tower case that housed the computer could not cover this cooler. In "single fan" mode, the points coming off the heat sink are just slightly too tall. Since I wanted to maximize my cooling potential and the case lid wasn't going to fit anyway, I went ahead with the dual fan mode. In this case, the motherboard PSU connector was in the way of the other fan sitting level, so it had to be adjusted upward (which you are allowed to do per specification.) Obviously the lid doesn't even have a chance now! Personally I'm not concerned with the case issue as the system is hidden away behind a screen anyway, but it is worth noting that if you do want a case to fit this cooler properly, make sure to measure your clearance from CPU to the height of the cooler. Still, in terms of function, this cooler works great and keeps extremely quiet, so I'm quite pleased with it.
