Solid Update to the Original

Not a huge change from the original 3ds, but significantly faster. The 3D is supposedly more stable, but I still rarely use it. The near field communication makes it compatible with the amiibo. Not world changing, but a really nice update.

My son loves it!

We started some of the Baby Einstein videos when my son was a newborn, and have been adding a few all along. At 18 months he's still fascinated, and Baby Noah is one of the best. It shows a variety of animals in their natural habitat, savanna, rain forest, ocean, etc. and the familiar Baby Einstein Puppets act out little skits. My son is now old enough to get some of the humor in the skits, and will often laugh out loud at the puppet shows, and daddy loves the classical music score as a break from another hour of Barney songs! Of course, it is loosely based on a biblical story, but there is no heavy-handed religiosity, so it should be appropriate for most any family or cultural background. In short - Love it!!

Learning to count!

Another excellent Baby Einstein product! My son is 18 months old, and we have just barely started working on counting. This video really seems to have helped him get the concept. In just a few days, he counts "one, two, fwee!" (OK, we still gotta work on pronunciation!) and could probably go higher, but at "fwee" he stops until everyone applauds. I love the gentle introduction to numbers, he loves the puppets, and the classical music score is more "daddy-friendly" than Barney or The Wiggles!
