Brilliant - lessons for all aspects of life (not just sport)
I bought this on the recommendation of a good table tennis coach, and it's been really useful: easy to read, full of advice based on experience, and a great help. It wasn't quite what I expected, as it's very much about the psychology of winning, but the lessons are there to be learnt, and I have begun to benefit from putting some of them into practice.
I thought the book lost its way a little towards the end, where it became somewhat enmired in psychology, but overall would recommend this to anyone, as there are lessons for all walks of life, not just sport.
Matthew Syed is a champion writer, as well as a top-class table tennis player, and I'd definitely buy it again.

Great for brushing up your skills
I wanted to brush up my French and for my son to learn a bit of the language so I thought this would be good to use in the car. I think it's great - he's not so enthusiastic - and I like the way the phrases are introduced then broken down. The only thing I don't like is that there's no transcript but that's perhaps because I learnt French at school many years ago, and I like to have the written word to refer to.
I'd definitely buy an earworms product again - I've got my eye on Mandarin Chinese for the next one.

A compelling maritime tale - shipshape indeed :)
I've been reading the series via my library, and this was the only volume they didn't have so I bought a copy to continue my reading. Great series of books - the odd one loses the pace a little but this was well up to scratch, and exciting stuff.
