Rat Nuts are more than just deck repair sex bolts. They're the best for securing rails to boards, if rails are your thing. Those tapered #8 1/2" wood screws, which come with most rails, suck! Thru bolting is the only way to keep rails from being ripped from the deck when getting agro on unwaxed aged concrete. Rat Nuts make the deck to rail interface industrial strength.
