Bad ass guitar amp
Modern Oranges don't even come close to touching the vintage ones. The way they take pedals can send your tone into the stratosphere in a way modern Oranges really just can't do. The new ones are very versatile, but just get very muddy with a fuzz or distortion box in front--not the old ones. This really is the "holy grail" of hard rock, stoner metal, doom metal, etc. The overdriven tones with less bass are perfect for lighter rock or hardcore/punk, and the things are built like tanks. Just make sure you have your amp (no matter vintage or modern) serviced every year or 2 just to make sure it's ok. It's cheaper to spend 100 bucks every couple years than have to spend several hundred or even total the amp. Yes, you can total an amp. And unless you really know what you're doing, I wouldn't recommend working on an amp yourself--it's not a stompbox, it can and will kill you, even unplugged. Vintage Orange, Matamp, Laney, Hiwatt, Marshall, etc. are the greatest value around. Everyone loves that classic british overdrive sound, and what better way to get the sound than with the actual amps all the modern amps are trying to emulate anyway?
