Fascinating for an English speaker.
If you're a "Sais" who has much affection for Cymru and a consequent interest in yr iaith Gymraeg, this world Atlas makes a fascinating companion to a Welsh-English dictionary.

Easily the best docu-drama ever made.
Easily the best docu-drama ever made. The film makes you feel like you're trapped in a spider's web, held fast, stunned, unable to escape as one horror follows another. And this is not Hollywood, tomato-ketchup horror; this is graphic, mercilessly realistic horror, brutal, disturbing, distressing. It is horror you believe. You watch and you know, you really KNOW, what it would be like to survive a nuclear war (aside from not mentioning nuclear winter, which was not known to be a consequence of nuclear warfare in 1965). You watch this film, and you never forget it.
To bridge the gap between fact and fiction, and to do it with to such shattering effect, makes The War Game a work of high art. It is director Watkins' masterpiece.

A real hygrometer (not a digital one).
It is a sad comment on today's obsession with digital technology that if you do an internet search for 'hygrometer' you're shown digital devices. If you want a real hygrometer you have to search for 'wet bulb hygrometer'. This is one such. It does what it says using simple non-electronic physics. You don't have to cross your fingers and hope it's telling the truth (as is the case with digital ones). You can see for yourself how and why it works. This hygrometer is what I wanted, it does what I want, and I'm satisfied with the purchase. Put it on a hook on a wall or, as I have done, screw the frame to a portable board so it can be moved around. Just be careful to keep it upright when moving it, as otherwise water will come out of the small wet-bulb reservoir.
