Review of Dark Angel Season 2 by Bethany
Good Points about Dark Angel Season 2:  Star Trek fans will be pleased to welcome Nana Visitor (Kira) to the cast, as well as applaud the return of John Savage (Main guest star of Star Trek:Voyager, Season 5’s Equinox, part 1 & 2 – A storyline that was very intense & a turning point among the Voyager crew!)… Other guest starring semi-regulars are Kevin Durand (Zipacna of Stargate SG1, as well as characters from other scifi shows such as Andromeda, and Threshold, which also starred Brent Spiner) & Martin Cummins Dark Angel’s Ames White, whom has been in shows such as SG1 & Andromeda also!)  The fact that Alec and Zak are such strong characters, whom you can believe in, especially through the strength of their interaction with Max, and her way of living her life with them in it! Get that!??  Of the two characters Michael Weatherly is most famous for, one being Logan, the other DiNozzo, that Logan, even though truthfully being portrayed as living with a disability, is far more comfortable in his own skin than Tony DiNozzo. Tony is always so worried about image, and how he portrays himself to others. He wants people to like him, and suffers with it in the form of insecurity – Mainly, because he has not grown up… Whereas, Logan has. He has concerns, and is still traumatized, particularly by his disability, but Logan is level-headed and a grown up. He reminds me of Batman’s Bruce Wayne, or Angel, in the earlier episodes of ANGEL when the gang is based in the abandoned hotel - BUT Logan Cale is NOT a carbon copy of either. He is imbued by Michael with a sense of real life and self. Logan is far from a one issue character; and though finding ways to offset his disability, he is not set entirely free from it… And the cast and crew do make an effort to portray this fact; this facet of his life. Also, he is still, in Season 2, asked to deal with his stance in life; a piece of society crumpet whom does not quite, even before his disability, belong to the society whom he lives alongside and cares so very much for. In season 2, he is asked to deal with how he relates to his family; what he thinks of them, and how to live with the skeletons in their closet (which) he has long suspected: Demonstrated, is the fact that he still feels the loss of family members he loved dearly. The viewer still gets to see Logan’s grief as he is convincingly pulled over the coals. There is a lot of tragedy about the life of Logan Cale, but he is in no way a tragic character. Points about Season 2 that are a bit controversial: The fact that the show obviously felt the need to compete with shows such as Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (‘wackiness’ is not suited to Dark Angel! – Though, thankfully, they always reset back to their own reality quite neatly when they do try it!)  Loss of some of the show’s bravery. Original Cindy does not have quite the same voice of individuality, & is much quieter by the end of the show’s run. Not least in her attraction to women! The character of Herbal (the wonderful voice of the Rasta!) is forgotten – I think, maybe, the Big People from on High in Studio-Land told the Producers to fall in line a little more… Again, this is also evidenced in the comparative comment I made above (about Dark Angel & Buffy)… And, I do think it is a shame that they make Logan lose all the ties of his disability in the storyline for the finale.  I would also have liked the Max/Logan romance to be more clearly dealt with in the finale.

    Bethany's Dark Angel Review
I decided to buy Dark Angel Season 1 because I was curious to see what else Michael Weatherly had done in his career, since becoming a major fan of NCIS, and him as a part of the cast. I also knew that Craig Veroni (from Stargate Atlantis, the late Dr Peter Grodin) is in Dark Angel… And, since, I have been very pleased to discover other Stargate alumni make appearances… Alex Zahara and Garry Chalk (Colonel Chekov) among them… While Garwin Sanford & Aaron Douglas (Stargate SG1/New Battlestar Galactica & Andromeda) also appear in an episode each. This show is excellent! Truly, especially Season 1 (though 2 is still a must for those who’ve made the effort to watch 1!)… Michael Weatherly is not DiNozzo-ish in the slightest, proving, not only by virtue of what they ask him to do for his NCIS role, which he delivers wonderfully, that he is a fantastic actor. Michael’s fans must see him in this show (Dark Angel). Logan Cale is nice to look at, yes, definitely… Bearded, wearing glasses, hair & attitude far more relaxed than Tony DiNozzo, but he, as a character, and the rest of the cast, are the kind you care about. They can be identified with; They’re very human (despite Max’s Manticore DNA!)… And their personal & ensemble storylines are so very intriguing, on the same kind of scale as a movie. Dark Angel is a brave show, particularly in Season 1. Fresh, enticing and innovative. Not too outlandish. Surprisingly believable, but filled with enough secret society dealings to have edge, & not so much as to be ridiculous. The behind-closed-doors stuff also works on a personal level for the lives of the characters, too! The relationship between Logan & Max is wonderful. Not sappy, not too doomed – Just perfect. But then, the chemistry had an effect on Michael & Jessica, too, so they probably ploughed it right back into their acting..! Shame it had to end (their relationship, if not Logan & Max’s) in such apparently bitter terms… Sounds to me like it was a simple case of wanting different things from life, being at different stages as well, perhaps… But, suffice to say, it was, at least, onscreen, nice while it lasted! Great material for those fans whom enjoy writing fanfic or making music videos. If you do, too, check out Dark Angel for new material! You’ll fall in love, one way or the other – So, get started on Season 1!!! Review By Bethany

A Review of Kylie's FEVER Album...
I bought a 2nd copy of the FEVER album for my friend, because I love this album so much! This album has the spirit, (that special joyeux de vivre) that makes Kylie, and her music, sparkle so much..! It continues the signature style she’s had from day one, and showcases that sexy alluring voice in the modern, uplifting way that all her later albums do! It’s not overly fluffy, and it has a deep enough melody to immerse yourself into each song… Everyone caught up by the magic that Kylie spells out upon her audiences should have this album – It’s pure Kylie, one of the finest examples of her magic! The music sweeps you up, carries you along, and distracts you from a bad day, the beat is enjoyable, rather than intrusive, and Kylie leads you through her songs superbly! Every song from the first (MORE,MORE, MORE) to the last (BURNING UP) is a hot, delicious remedy to the doldrums that can often invade our hearts before we put on some cool music to provide that little bit of survivor’s vital escapism! Perfect for any time of night or day, parties, or a quiet house while doing the housework; it’s wonderful – Even if you’re not brave enough to sing and dance along to it with The Great Pop Princess, Kylie Minogue..!
