The Saw Doctors : Play It Again Sham Alternative Rock 1 Disc CD

See my review (above). What more can I say? A little bit of love makes it all worthwhile.

On one hand, this is a truly original band. On the other hand, one hears a bit of The Ramones (the rock 'em sock 'em), a bit of Beatles (the musicality, the instrumentation and the unpredictability), a bit of Paul Simon (the intellectual complexity and the occasional tenderness) and a bit of whatever your previously favorite Irish band was. This was my first Saw Doctors purchase. There WILL be more!

Not as good as Play It Again Sham but still excellent. If you don't know The Sham Doctors, you should!

Ford packs all sorts of DETAIL (professional, psychological, social commentary, geographical) into the tale of a flawed but sympathetic character. I will follow that character (Frank Bascomb) through all five books in which he is the focus. I'm halfway through #2. I recommend the series to everyone, but especially to anyone who's ever worked as a sportswriter or a realtor.
