Finally A Single Serving Rice Cooker Compatible With Brown Rice
1 of 1 found this helpful I am just amazed at how well this cooks a single serving of brown rice. I imported this to Canada and had to purchased a suitable 110V to 220V power adapter for use in my home. It has been worth the expense. Perfect for 1 or 2 adults. I suggest consideration be given to gifting this to the elderly people struggling with what to cook for just 1. This does the job described.

Practical, Good Quality
1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this because of the UV stage to kill bacteria. For filters that are anticipated to last up to a year you want to ensure if bacteria forms on the filter it isn't then becoming part of all the water that passes through it until the filter is changed. For this reason alone I purchased this style over reverse osmosis.
I invited in a total of 3 faucets. With some "elbow grease" drinking water is then available in the bathrooms and the kitchen. This is for ease of use and the fundamental way I live my life while home and manage my physical disability.
I've additionally invested in a water meter so after the first filter change I am able to anticipate ordering a replacement set of filters in preparation for when they reach the end of their service life. I would remind anyone who considers taking this extra step to ensure your water filter is "potable water" graded. Without this you are poisoning the water you consume.
The housing for the stage 1 filter is transparent. It is a visual indication of the filter usage and when the time comes to replace it. This is peace of mind for those who don't have the financial means to purchase a water meter.
The only accessory I would highly recommend someone purchase is a hook to hang the tool that looses the filter housing for stages 1, 2 and 3. This tool is absolutely essential in forming a water tight seal with the O rings.
There are 2 pieces of advice I'd give in advance of making this purchase:
1. The practical logistic of how you will plug in the UV light. A licensed electrician should be consulted to assess if your power outlet is safe and practical or to install a new power outlet. There is nothing worse than making a purchase and having it sit unused.
2. This water filter is designed for water that has already been treated, filtered and deemed safe for human consumption. It isn't suitable for cleansing water coming from a well. It is capable of cleansing water from where it enters the community water distribution and also improving taste. The target market is someone who is on a community water source. This also doesn't have the gusto necessary to process all the water for the entire house. It is for drinking water and does it's job well.
When you look at the cost of bottled water it doesn't take long until you've spent the up front cost of buying this drinking water filter and you don't have anything to show for your money. For me this justifies the purchase. With the use of compression fittings and O rings for water tightness it is reasonable to expect you are able to change the filters yourself or have someone show you once and then do it yourself in subsequent years. In a very practical sense this purchase money you were spending on bottled water could now go towards your retirement savings.

Great Prototyping Project Box
I have purchased (3) of these project boxes for my weather station project. They are fantastic value. At the local "big box" stores there are limited options available for project boxes. They only carry standard sizes. This isn't helpful when prototyping, researching and developing. I also like that the project boxes leave it for you to drill your own holes.
Provided you use cable glands the weather tightness integrity remains. These are compatible with threaded PVC conduit fittings. Alternatively a person could use the ABS - PVC transition solvent for schedule 40 PVC conduit.
The 2 "cautionary" points I have are:
1) to remember your personal protective equipment
2) deburring holes drilled holes in these project boxes may become necessary because of the friction generated while drilling causing the ABS to form a rigid edge. I used both a metal working deburring tool and vice grips to accomplish this successfully.
I was very pleased with the option for shipping using SpeedPAK and that this provided international tracking.
