Elgar: Violin Concerto von Nikolaj Znaider | CD | gebraucht

The Kreisler violin is still in very beautiful voice!

The quality of the recording itself is excellent. The performance is extremely reminiscent of Sir Edwards own recording of 1932 with Yehudi Menuhin as soloist. However the Staatskapelle Dresden, under Sir Colin Davis, have kept the warmth of the orchestral sound in all its glorious richness. Znaider's touch with both the left hand and his bowing are frankly, out of this world, rather than rushing any of the music he takes his time to allow the old ex Kreisler instrument to sing its heart out once again, just as Fritz himself would have done in the very first performance of this very beautiful concerto.a hundred years ago. Absolutely masterful!! All in all a very beautiful rendition of a great piece of Elgar.

A very good buy.

I consider this set to be very good value for money and was extremely easy to assemble in a total of about 3 hours for table and 4 chairs complete. Highly recommended.
