Economical replacement for original part.
As the name implies, this product is designed to protect the spokes on the bicycle's rear wheel if the bicycle chain comes off of the large gear of the cassette and tangle with the spokes. I have older MTB and an older hybrid bicycles that the original spoke protectors were crazed and broken from exposure to sun. This spoke protector is a perfect snap-on fit to the rear wheel hub. To install the wheel must be removed from the bicycle and the cassette removed as well.
