Professional class video security that even an average homeowner can install and set up.
1 of 1 found this helpful This ARLO four camera security video system IS a good value, despite its relatively premium price.
It was surprisingly easy to set up. The directions that came with the package are adequate, but there are reams more information available on the web. So far, I've only placed two of the cameras outside my home, as I haven't yet decided the most effective sites for the remaining two. However, the video quality I am receiving is excellent and very wide angle. I only wish that I had this unit a little over a year ago when someone broke into my house while I was still asleep in the early a.m. He parked his truck in my driveway, and had I had this video system in place then, I'm fairly confident that the police would have been able to track him down. My oral description wasn't so useful. It might have even captured the license plate number as he drove in, although I'm not sure if it would have been readable. The video quality seems good enough to do that though.
There is a lot more about this system that I have yet to learn, such as the motion detection adjustment, the various cloud storage options and some features that are only available if connected to an electrical outlet. For now, the batteries are sufficient for me, and I'm very satisfied with the system. Installation is a breeze without wiring!
I have just ordered one of the ARLO solar panels. I've seen many negative reviews about them, but I wanted to try one to evaluate myself. If it works as advertised, then it will make at least one of my four cameras less dependent on manually recharging the battery, and then I can make an intelligent decision about purchasing three more. It's certainly a great idea, to complement an already very capable video security system. I'm hoping all of those reviews were not accurate.
Also being considered for future purchase is a set of the ARLO motion detection security light packages. After researching them I decided that they will make my present video system twice as effective, and I've seen very positive reviews almost exclusively for these lights.
The effectiveness and usefulness of this video security system can't be described adequately in a few short paragraphs, but just understand that the price of security is well worth the cost. As the recent victim of a burglary, I can attest to that.
