Nikon COOLPIX AW100 16.0MP Digital Camera

Great for wet conditions, but only a 7/10 for picture quality
A very good camera when you need a waterproof camera. Very reasonably priced and serves a valuable purpose. I use it while kayaking, snorkeling, snow skiing, water skiing, and surfing. However, the photo qualities are only a 7/10. You can manipulate the photographs with photoshop, but the images still are not as good as many of the better quality point and shoot digital cameras (Canon G12).

    Canon 220EX Flash Review
The Canon 220EX flash is a very basic external flash. I purchased it for my Canon G10 camera so the size and portability of the flash was very important as this flash is only there to provide extra light output when the on camera flash is not enough. I also have the Canon 550EX and the 580EX flashes that I can use when I want to illuminate very large areas. The 220EX doesn't have any manual controls or any options that I utilize. It is a basic external flash with a reasonable recycle time. I found the recycle time to be adequate as compared to a friends 270EX flash. it recycles faster, probably because it uses 4AA batteries and not 2AA batteries. There is no bounce feature so the lighting is very direct. I'm working on ways to bounce the light vertically and horizontally and should have a solution very shortly. It's light output is decent for the size of the flash. Overall I would rate the flash as a Good purchase, but it has limitations. For 99.9% of its users it would be more than adequate for 99.9% of their needs - parties, gatherings, outdoor fill flash, etc.

    13.3" Apple MacBook Laptop
I purchased the 13.3" MacBook Laptop for my daughter. I also own a mid 2010 13.3" white unibody MacBook and a 2011 13.3" MacBook Pro. I loaded the used 13.3" MacBook Laptop with the latest Snow Leopard, iLife, Office, Aperture, CS4, Toast, and a few other programs. I am very happy with the performance of the used MacBook. It is not noticeably slower than the 13.3" MacBook white unibody with 2GB of ram. The noticeable difference is when I upgraded my white unibody laptop to 8GB of ram. The used MacBook is noticeably slower in internet usage and much slower with Photoshop CS4. The same could be said when comparing the used MacBook with the 2011 MacBook Pro (8GB ram). However, for basic computing, the used MacBook is an excellent computer. I prefer it over any Windows based laptop. The only drawback would be the smaller hard drive and 2GB of ram. But, i upgraded my laptop to 500GB. I probably won't be upgrading the ram until I can find some inexpensive ram. 4GB of ram isn't really necessary for 99% of what people would use the computer for. I would recommend purchasing a used 13.3" MacBook laptop as long as the price is 50-60% of a new MacBook. Most people will not notice any significant difference. If you do any extensive photo or video editing, then I would upgrade the ram. I don't think its really worth purchasing a new MacBook laptop especially when the street prices are $950 for the white unibody and $1150 for the MacBook Pro. I purchased the new 2010 white unibody for $750 and the new 2011 MacBook Pro for $950. They had a $200 instant rebate. Otherwise, I would have purchased a used MacBook Laptop
