Sundays best.
The more diverse third and last album by premier indie band, The Sundays. Some of Harriet Wheeler’s best vocal performances on this indie but with a folk influence album. David Gavurin also excels in writing and performing throughout. Summertime is the instant attraction but all that follows deserve equal attention right through to what is the signature track for me, Monochrome. The evocative lyrics expand on the album cover image and the supplement of those sultry horns perfectly suit the mood. Loved this album for decades and it’s still relevant in the 2020”s.
