Perfect working condition, the game works and included all the packages as described in the listing! Minor hickup due to the handwritten label getting wet during delivery but the seller was gracious enough to accept responsibility if it it didn't arrive... BUT IT ARRIVED!

Very friendly seller! Upfront about the item being sold and kept me up to date about the shipment process. (While I was honestly slow to write a review), the item arrived fast and with all books being exactly as described.

Great game, just short of reaching its potential.
First off, I love the Battletoads franchise. I was about 4 when I played the original Battletoads; it was hard then and it's just as hard now. The one thing that really killed the game was how varied it was! The beat 'em up portions of the game were a blast while some of the side scrolling levels (ice caverns, this one's for you!) were just simply frustrating instead of fun. Overall, the original is a classic by all standards. It had great graphics, huge difficulty, awesome gameplay, two player capability, and innovative gameplay mechanics for the time. But it could have been better. Two years later: Enter Battletoads/Double Dragon for the SNES. This game made huge strides in the graphics department and added some interesting twists to the gameplay. The first two levels serve as orderves until the third level comes and kicks your butt. The difficulty doesn't ramp up very steadily here. It's pretty easy at first but all of a sudden it seems to spike like crazy. The cool thing about this game is that it focused more on the beat 'em up side of things. While not completely focused on fighting, the game did give you more levels to tear stuff up. It also added an option to play with two players and NOT be able to accidentally punch eachother, which was a godsend to those frustrated with how hard the original Battletoads became when playing with two people! But realistically, this game does not live up to the standards of the original Battletoads. Admittedly, it was and still is cool that Rare got the rights to Double Dragon characters. Although they don't really fit into the game, who's to say that these two guys can't fight big rats and girls with whips? I mean there's as much reason for them to be fighting these characters as there is reason for there to be three mutant toads with the names Zitz, Rash, and Pimple. The real kicker is that the game is just really cheap in the way it kills you. The original was very stingy with what it allowed. For example, on the speeder bike level, if you move at all while in the air you WILL die when you go to land. However, if you abide by the strict rules of life and death in the game, you will survive. In Battletoads/Double Dragon, the rules aren't quite as clear. This may be because collision detection is not as good as it was in the first game, or because the difficulty doesn't allow much time to react to things. If you wish to succeed here, dedication and thus memorization of the levels and strategies is key. Otherwise you'll kick the proverbial bucket in no time. Graphics: 7/10 Good for an SNES game, but considering this game came out in 1993, or only 1 year before the other RARE classic Donkey Kong Country, it pales in comparison. For those who've never played that game, check it out right away. It's one of the best experiences on SNES hands down as well as the most beautiful game to grace the system other than its two sequels and Mario RPG. Gameplay: 8/10 Solid Battletoads fare, but the gameplay doesn't seem as tight as it did on the original NES game. Grabbing biker girls by their hair and throwing them around never gets old. If you don't know what playing a Battletoads game is like, pick this one up and play it with a friend. You'll be sure to enjoy it at least for a little while. Even though the difficulty is severe, it never seems to get old. Sound: 8/10 Pretty sweet rock soundtrack goin' on here. Sound is good for an SNES game. Lots of punching and hitting and exploding sounds.

Beautiful in its simplicity.
Oh Mario, you have had so many games througout your lifetime, yet most of them have been so GOOD! You've had your hiccups (Sunshine, Strikers, and a few others) but the N64 was a console which had only quality Mario badged games. Mario 64 is still one of my favorite platform games to this day, and Mario Tennis is simply one of the best multiplayer experiences available, let alone one of the best tennis games ever. And here is Mario Golf. Who thought a game that really only uses one button could be so good? I didn't need to play this game long to realize it was gold. The only thing I'm sad to say is that I didn't own a Nintendo 64 when I was a kid. I was attracted by more "mature" theme of the Sony Playstation, but I do regret having that mentality now. Mario Golf is also a wonderful game to play with a group of friends on your couch. It can be very competitive but is fun no matter how well you do. The graphics are very bright and colorful. They may not be anything special to write home about, but for a N64 cart they have nothing to be ashamed about. The Mario characters are well animated and the sound is pretty well done too. You don't have to be a fan of golf to like this game! I personally despise watching golf on TV. I've never been interested in any of the Tiger Woods games, either, because of their goal of playing the most realistic game of golf possible. Why would I want to play a realistic depiction of a game I'm not interested in real life? You're right, I wouldn't want to do that. And that's the beauty of Mario Golf. It is able to make an otherwise unattractive sport attractive to a person like myself. The one complaint I have is (like other N64 games like Smash Bros., Mario Tennis, Wave Race, Goldeneye, etc.) there simply isn't that much fun to be had by playing the game by yourself. If you are into playing games with good single player content, this is probably not the game for you. There may be tournaments and things like that, but none of it is really interesting enough to play on your own (in my honest opinion). You can't beat the feeling you get by getting a hole in one and beating a buddy on the 18th hole after being down 3 strokes the entire game! Mario Golf deserves a 9/10 ten, but only if you plan on having friends over to play it. It's gameplay mechanics have aged well based purely on their simplicity. While games like FPS's and realistic sports games have come a long way in the last ten years, it is the more accessible, arcadey games that possess the longevity to make them fun even to this day. It is what you would call a "classic" game. Check it out.

Not as good as it should have been.
I'm going to come out and say it. I liked this game, but didn't love it. It seems like this game has attained somewhat of a cult status since it's following. I should have trusted the reviews of IGN and Gamespot, though. Shadow of Rome starts out great. The story is really unimportant, but serves to move the game along. The only thing you need to know is that Caesar has been murdered (big surprise) and you are the son of one of his most trusted advisors. The first level is sweet because you are in the Colliseum fighting all sorts of gladiators. If the developers had been able to weave a story around the game and make it so you spent the entire game performing fights in the Colliseum it would have been awesome. Unfortunately you have to flip back and forth between Agrippa and some little prick named Octavianus. This really takes away from the fun to be had in the game and serves to make it longer than it really is. Octavianus' levels are boring. All you do is sneak around and try to find out info to further the story. If I wanted to play a stealth game I would play MGS, Hitman or Splinter Cell. Thanks, but no thanks. And if I wanted to play an RPG where I needed to talk to every effing townsperson to complete my objectives, I would go play Final Fantasy! Where the game truly shines is in it's combat. When you are fortunate enough to be in the ring fighting, you are given a slew of different weapons to use and the ability to steal weapons out of enemies' hands. If you are doing well, use a command to get the crowd's attention. By doing this they might throw you a new weapon or an item to use to heal yourself. Killing in the most gruesome way possible is the true name of the game, though. There are things called Salvos, which are similar to the Signature Takedown feature of Burnout 3 and Revenge. Each Salvo has a description of certain things to perform while in battle, such as doing a three hit combo, or impaling a foe with a thrown weapon. This system functions as a way to unlock things later in the game and also as a fun way to learn to do new techniques. To me, systems like this one and those found in the Burnout series may be fun for a while, but they are totally superfluous to the gaming experience and thus don't add much overall. I could do just fine without having the extra chore of trying to get all of the Salvos in the game. It's even more annoying when I can't unlock all of the extra content unless I get all of the Salvos! When a video game turns into work then it's not doing its intended job. Overall, this is a game that could have been so much more. I am being generous by giving this game a 4/5. I give it this score because of the amount of fun I did have (which was a lot) while I was fighting in the Colliseum. The rest of the levels with the lame character Octavianus served to further a story I really didn't care about. I love history, but this game doesn't even come close to accurately portraying any of the events succeeding Caeser's death and Marc Antony's seizure of Rome. For this reason, I chose not to pay much attention to the story because of its inaccuracies. They just annoyed me. I don't want a fake history lesson. It's just too bad the developers weren't able to make the game strictly about the life of a gladiator and the emotions he has to deal with while killing in order to survive. Now THAT could have been an epic game. Sad to say, Shadow of Rome falls well short of reaching the mark of greatness.
