Failed after 5 seconds
2 of 2 found this helpful Mine failed after about 5 seconds of very light use (less than 10 amps!). I had it wired up correctly, and can't have overloaded, as I'd put a 20 amp fuse coming off the battery. Looking at the way it is built, there is no chance of this thing handling even 30 amps continuous current. Heat sinks are tiny, not thermally coupled and no cooling. If you added some larger heat sinks with some thermal paste and a fan, it might just about manage 30, but by the time you'd done all that, it would be quicker, cheaper and easier to have purchased a better product. As they say, you get what you pay for, and as far as speed controllers go, this is the cheapest of the cheap. I would say this is only suitable for VERY light use, and doesn't even come remotely close to what is advertised. It's worth noting - they've scrubbed the identification markings off the FETs, so that makes me think these aren't exactly quality components they're using.

Great product

Cheap and nasty.

I would recommend spending a bit more and buying better quality clamps with a solid band, instead of these cheap perforated ones.
