GW 40k Novel Gaunt's Ghosts - The Founding, Omnibus (2007 Ed) Abnett

This book is really really awesome.

This was recommended to me as the best place to begin reading in the 40K universe, and after finishing the first book in this sucker I can see why. First and Only had an extremely awesome plot and I'm excited to move on and read more. I had already read about the first 7 or 8 books from the Horus Heresy, but again, was told that's not the place to start. The comparison was: reading the HH stuff first before the 40K stuff is like watching Star Wars episodes 1, 2, and 3 before watching 4, 5, and 6. Note that I'm not an Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum) player, but I still found this very compelling. It paints such a perfect picture of what the grim dark of the 40th millennium is like.

Quintessential Cuban music

I bought this CD because it was recommended to me by my drum teacher. As a way to further my learning of latin music and rhythms, I needed to get some of the best Cuban music out there. This music is great. The quality of the recording is very good considering it was recorded in Havana in the 50's. If you are looking for authentic Cuban music as performed by the masters of Rumba, this CD is what you want. If you don't know what this is and you aren't looking for/familiar with latin music, this stuff will be over your head.
