not like the old N.I. daysack
I've been waiting for a modern MTP version of the old NI patrol pack for quite some time and still have my original which is still going strong after 15years hard usage.
If like me you are expecting a modern version of a bombproof design that served us well in the old DPM days then you're going to be disappointed. This one doesn't come close to the quality of the original.
The pack itself has no stiffening which the old pack had and there is no waist belt. The main drawback for me is the lack of padding on the back. In this design it is very thin meaning you can feel every object in the pack which is extremely uncomfortable when carrying kit over rough ground or on fitness assessments. The side pouches are smaller and the shoulder straps have softer padding which doesnt stand up well when carrying heavy military kit. if the most you carry is a fleece, waterproof and a packed lunch it will suffice but not much more.
I have to admit i expected something better for Β£36. It just doesnt feel as good as the old one.I doubt it will last as long as my old one which will probably out last me.
If you're in the military do not waste your money. This day sack is not fit for your purpose. It might do for a college/school bag but not as advertised for any military purpose.

Plastic clips? Really?
My only issue with this otherwise excellent cooking pot is the plastic lid grips. They would melt the moment you put it on a campfire. I removed them straight away but now have no way of securing the lid.
For such experienced & respected manufacturers I expect better.
Please supply them with metal clips of the same standard as the pot
