Nice sewing machine at a good price

I am an amateur at best when it comes to sewing with a machine. I read the reviews of this machine and found that it’s true that you must make sure that the thread from the needle is left at a length longer than it is left when you use the cutter on the machine (simply advance the thread by pulling it further), or else it will come out of the needle while you sew. Once I got used to that, I have found it easy to use. I did buy some heavy-duty needles to use when sewing through several layers of cotton for masks; this was helpful. I initially broke a couple of the standard needles by trying to sew through those layers. I was pleased to find that the zig zag stitch is quite decorative. Please note that the pictures attached which show the zig zag also have straight stitching along the same line.

The Pond Doctor

This book contains some very practical information about pond maintenance. Some of the trademarked koi/fish treatments may be out-of-date, as I did not recognize them. This book filled a gap that some of my other books left regarding the practical maintenance of ponds. I would recommend it for pond maintenance.

Good Owners, Great Dogs, is a must read for owners

The best dog training book out there. This one is a must. Easy to read, very practical and thorough. A must for any dog owner, whether you've gotten your first puppy or want to shape up an older dog. Positive techniques, drawing on the knowledge that dogs WANT to please their owners, they just need to be told how to. This book helps you to communicate that. Great book!
