A Handy Handheld
The Nintendo Switch Lite was ideal for me personally as someone who already owns several Playstation consoles and just needs a handheld for on the go. I have family and friends who have the base Switch model and all really loved it so I decided to dive in myself.
I mostly use my Switch Lite as a gaming setup for when I’m traveling. It’s compact and so fits neatly in bags or pockets and it’s surprisingly powerful, being able to run some pretty heavyweight titles like Fortnite, Doom, Skyrim, Assassins Creed (many different ones), Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, Fall Guys, Apex Legends, Mortal Kombat 11, Persona 5, Animal Crossing etc.
Not only is the AAA lineup good but the indie roster is really large on the Switch too, tons of great games like Spiritfarer, Limbo, Among Us, Stardew Valley and Unravel, just to name a few.
Now, I would recommend a base model Switch or even an OLED one over the Lite if you’re going to be using it as your main setup, but if you’re looking for just a handheld to pickup and play on the go, this is the one for you.
One thing to note on this model and all other the other Switch models as well is the small built-in storage. You will only start with 32gb on the console which DOES NOT go far. It’s likely that you will want to upgrade the storage with a micro sd card which you can buy in various storage sizes on Amazon or other similar sites.
Anyway, I highly recommend this model, for adults and children alike, although adults prepare to need to stretch those fingers and thumbs every now and then because trust me when I say this console is small and your hands will get tired without grips.
