New Look Misses Button-Front Dresses Sewing Pattern 6587

My favourite pattern for a shirt dress

I have made this dress several times both for my daughters and myself. I prefer the view with the collar and have added the pocket. The instructions are easy to follow and the dress is a real winner, in fact much nicer than it looks on the front of the pattern. It also works really well to use a contrasting fabric for the button bands, collar and pocket tops.The only change I made was to shorten the collar points at the front. It's such a shame that Newlook appear to have discontinued this pattern, they should re-release it with a more modern photo on the front of the pack

Would recommend

I've used a few other cheap seam rippers that haven't been sharp enough to do the job efficiently, but these are excellent, much more like my quality bernina seam ripper

Excellent purchase

I bought this lamp to help me sew during the darker winter days and it has been just what I've been looking for. The brightness of the light has helped me see small details and the head is adjustable so that I can angle it into the correct position even when sitting
