Brilliant kids' read
My son aged 7 1/2 absolutely loves this book, and the prequel, which he was introduced to at school. I have never seen him so thrilled to receive a book as a present! Beats Horrid Henry (his other fast read) by a long way, and has clearly entered into his waking fantasy world . . .

A 'look back at the good times', about youth and ageing, mid-last century provincial USA. Sweet and sad.
It's a great book, really enjoying reading it.
