Massive improvement over original
1 of 1 found this helpful My mini maglite was well past it, the light output compared to modern lamps was dire, but it was made to last a lifetime unlike anything you buy today made in china.
Upgrading to a 1 watt LED doesn't sound like a huge improvement, but it is surprisingly bright. The light spread is uniform because there is no longer a filament to alter the light projection.
If you have an old maglite, upgrade it to LED, they weren't cheap when originally bought them, this will resurrect it.

Rejuvenated tired old faithful
Great and cheap upgrade your old maglite deserves, additionally the light pattern is also improved now there is no filament bulb. I was well happy
