Good, family film.
This is a solidly made movie which is fun for all the family. The titular dog is cool, if occasionally too obviously CGI. The dog's opposite DestructoCat is actually kind of cool and a bit scary. The characters are all well drawn. The main protagonist, Jake, is very well played and his friend, the young journalist girl is a very good actress. Most people would see this for Ben Browder and would not be disappointed. Although his character, the police chief and Jakes father, is given little to do, Browder takes what straw he is given and somehow makes it gold. His performance is very touching, believable, funny, sad and a whole lot of other things. Just a very, very good performance. Possibly the only downsides are that the CGI is a little too obvious at times and the villain is played by Ethan Phillips, who manages to be as annoying as he was as Neelix in Voyager.
Worth watching for Browder alone, but a really interesting and fun family movie.

One of the best Layton games
A really good game. The puzzles are fun and, at times, really challenging. The graphics are good and the 3d aspects are very well done. The story is wider in scope than the others and very compelling. The voice acting is uniformly good throughout. The twists in the plot are surprising and quite heartwarming, the climactic scenes being both exciting and surprisingly touching for a puzzle game. Like both Miracle Mask and Unwound Future, it really packs a punch. And there are moments that are genuinely funny.
All in all I would certainly recommend it. You can play the game many times, (I'm currently on my fourth time through), and still find new aspects.

Quality is good, but the colours aren't very accurate.
I have started this kit and the overall impression is one of quality. The material is good and the threads well presented. The chart is odd, as you cannot see the finished design whilst you are stitching, the picture is on the reverse to the chart.
So far, I have stitched the top right lilac flower and the butterfly, and the colours are not at all accurate. Maybe it will even itself out in the design, but the shaded lilacs of the flower are instead a clashing mix of mid purple, strong lilac and ice blue. Even the stalk from which the flower comes isn't dark green with highlights, as shown in the picture, but rather two, almost identical lime greens. If I had the time and resources, I would like to restitch this with the colours I think should be there, The design itself is beautiful.
Overall, I'm enjoying stitching the design, I just wish the colours were those of the picture.
