dying new device with a 7 year old battery in it

had a c320 for 6 months and the batery is dying, call company and get "we do not fix em, but for 100.00 we'll send you a new one", I said no- but when I open up the back to DIY- I find my 2008 MIo has a battery made in FEB 2001. never will I buy from these frauds.
