State-of-the-Art Classic Sci-Fi
1 of 1 found this helpful This is classic science fiction at it's very best, with emphasis on the science. The spacecraft are based on proposed designs by the great Wernher von Braun. In this movie, you will find no monsters, aliens, or robots, but instead, a hypothetical mission to Mars. The character inter-action is very good, and this is basis for some of the bigger aspects of the story. The special effects are incredible when one considers the year of production, 1955. If you enjoy old sci-fi movies, you owe it to yourself to give this movie some attention, and enjoy proposed space exploration based on 1950's science.

Wayne Barlowe's Expedition comes to life!
As a fan of Wayne Douglas Barlowe's art and of his book Expedition in particular, I was quite intrigued by the prospect of Alien Planet. I was certainly pleased to see his artwork brought to life by top notch cutting edge CGI. I also enjoyed the differences ie: the probes and spacecraft. And I will wager you will not see any alien life forms like these anywhere else. Very well done. However, it left me hungry for special features that were not present on the DVD. All in all, a great science fiction documentary.

Iconic!!
This is an iconic album! Although the soundtrack for the movie The Song Remains the Same, it is completely stand alone. Whether you have seen the movie or not, you owe it to yourself to purchase this album if you love Led Zeppelin!
