Athearn #5565 IMPACK Inter 3-Cars HO 1/87 SP Southern Pacific Kit NEW Vintage

High quality partial kit.

This was a very high quality kit. The molding, fit and finish was well above what Athearn usually achieved with it's "Blue Box" freight car kits. All the parts were individually wrapped in plastic and were in perfect condition upon arrival. However, be aware that this is only the middle section of the Impack unit and is unusable without the end kit #5555.

Pay more and get one that fits.

The finish on the product was deformed and marred slightly in some places. It was slightly different than the OEM with different clips that didn't line up well or snap into place like they should. I made it work but would rather pay more and get better quality and not damage the bumper that it mounts to.

Great kit...came as described and shown. Aluminum rod is less likely to damage the rifling in the bore and the ball bearing swivel handle lets the cleaning tools spin and follow the grooves. I use the .22 version to clean all my long guns and pistols (with some separately purchased bore brushes and such) ...does them all. This is the same style kit almost exactly that I bought over 30 years ago. Still the same good quality...I would recommend it to anyone. I do use Ballistol oil/cleaner though.
