I’ve restored and collected antique violins for a great many years. I am an Artist at City Arts Nottingham and own “The Secret Violin Shop”. I am passionate about painstakingly restoring and always setting up violins correctly and innovativley. Sound-posts should be grade-A wood, perfectly vertical, exactly fitted and in the right place for the violin. Bridges should be the correct height and correctly thinned with perfectly fitted feet. Sustainability is something I aim for, wherever it’s possible. My violin sales and purchases are used to expand and maintain the Violins With Stories Collection. As an artist, I create some wonderfully playable Kintsugi violins for sale from some severely damaged insruments.

Invisible tippet
Some very wise brown trout where I fish have been ignoring my flies for weeks. The 4 pound clear Maxima tippet cracked the problem at last.
