Easy to use product
I bought this product to use with windows 8.1and windows 10. It worked great with windows 8.1. Havent used it with windows 10 yet. I also was able to easily use this product with windows xp. The drivers are not very hard to install, plug and play.

Good Civil War Strategy Game
6 of 6 found this helpful In American Civil War, you can pick to be any commander, brigade size to army size unit, on Confederate or Union side during 3 different battles: Cedar Mountain, 2nd Manassas, and Chantilly, during different time periods: morning, afternoon, and evening. There is also a open play option that lets you play with a unit you choose against any unit you choose with some maps that are not part of the historic battle scenarios. That is plenty to explore.
Pros:
The game is about roughly a 1/10th scale representation of the real battles. For example if the 2nd Mississippi Inf. has 324 men, you will see 32 men represented on the field. Another pro is unit traits, each unit has different traits: medical, bayonet, rifle, etc. training. This gives each unit different advantages against the other. For example, you have an advantage charging with a unit high in bayonet training or just firing with a unit with high rifle training. Also there are advantages related to the map such as high defense bonuses for units on a rail road grade, rail fence, forest, support, leader nearby, and high ground.
cons:
The 1/10th scale representation is better that Civilization's 1 unit representing a whole army or division. But, I am ready for a 1 to 1 representation of soldiers on the battlefield. After playing for a while, the play gets boring because you know how the brigades will react to oncoming fire.
Conclusion:
I liked this game very much, but I think it could be used as a model for a better game. But, looking at its price on ebay, this game is well worth what you can buy it for.
