Good for CD/DVDs as well as general printing
I bought this specifically to direct-print CDs/DVDs, (not many other cheap printers available now that do this) which it does well, and is recognised by the CD software I already had for my now defunct ip4300. Also gives good general printing. Weak spot is the output paper support arm that automatically protrudes when the front is opened - it's easy to knock this which I did on day 2, and it broke. Not affected the printing, though.

From illegible to calligraphy?
These were recommended to me for my son to use for his GCSEs following complaints that his ballpoint-pen writing was illegible. It's certainly easier to write more neatly with the Pilot pens, and buying 12 at a time on ebay is much more economical than buying a single pen in the shops.

cost effective orienteering compass
It is functional and cheaper than similar compasses in outdoor shops.
