You have to own

The first film is a classic. Who is someone who claims to know the 80s but isn't versed in Back to the Future? Nobody. The successive films are fun curiosities. I can see someone opting to just get the original by why not obtain all three when they are this fun?

DT's best

Just as many of you do, I listen to a voluminous amount of music. I'm confident Dream Theater is virtuosically the most adept band on the planet and that includes Rush, an obvious influence. What is special about Images & Words is that every song has purpose, each transition is part of a narrative and every fill serves the music itself instead of asserting only the chops of the musician. This is not always the case with progressive rock. To Dream Theater's credit, it has largely the case within their entire catelog thus far. With Images & Words however, not a single note could be edited to make it a more efficient record of the same weight. It is, by definition, a progessive music masterpiece. This record has muscle, subtlety, beauty, technical prowess and grace and it is singular to anything that has ever been released. It will bless your life.
