Poor Quality Built. Older model of same Kettle much better quality.
This model is very poorly designed. The lid doesn't lock in the close position. It opens by itself or remain open. Seems to be a poor design of the latch that is supposed to maintain the lid closed. Consequently, it takes a long time to heat water or turnoff by itself as expected when it reaches a boiling temperature. It just keeps boiling and never shuts off it self. Just used it for less than a week when the issues started. Initially appeared to be ok, but not after a couple of days. Poor quality built. I can't believe it! I have an older model that works way better (that is why I bought a new model thinking that I was going to get same quality or better). :(
