Faster than any Synology I have seen yet.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have been using Synology NAS units since the x10 series. They worked but were slower than I desired. For instance, then took 24 hours to initialize 4 drives and a very long time to load up. Now, 6 generations later... The 416 only took about 15 hours to initialize and loads up at 950Mb/s. If the weather was not so hot, I would be finished soon. To keep them safe, I shut down all servers at 80º ambient even though with the fan on high, the drives are kept safely cool. I am just paranoid, I guess. The box is VERY easy to load drives into with plastic, snap-on dowels instead of screws for no-screwdriver installs. Everything to like. Runs all the standard stuff with DS software and is nicely fast. I highly recommend this if you want a huge (up to 30TB) of RAID storage in a single box. Be sure to get two and make backups (yes, very paranoid!).

3 of 4 found this helpful Really, $2,000 for a $100 flashlight. I wish I had a barrel full of these to sell at this price. You must work for Beezid or one of those scan sites and the scam pricing has rubbed off on you! Get real!!

This smallest iPod is amazing!
The most obvious feature of this unit is its smallness. It is about the size of a large postage stamp (and not much thicker!) but has 8GB of flash memory in it. I was not expecting the screen to be nearly as good as it is. There is not much room but they manage to get multiple ICONs on the screen and use finger gestures on the tiny touch-sensitive screen to control things. My non-techy S.O. has to have something easy to use and this was it. We tried two other units which were small enough to qualify but which were too hard to use and did not have "shuffle" mode for an ever-changing variety of music. I loaded it up with the iPod-standard USB standard connector which takes up most of one edge of the unit using iTunes (the only negative).
There is a clip on the back to use to hang this on a pocket or belt or anything similar that is thin enough to fit into the clip. The "Shake to Shuffle" feature is great. No light needed, no screen needed, just pull it off of wherever it is clipped, shake it and hear something else you might like or shake again for yet another try.
Get a good deal on it and you can enjoy lots of music, either in shuffle or linear play mode for little money and very little space/weight.
Lots to offer. Read the manual, of course, to get the full benefit from this tiny player then clip and go. There are other choices out there such as the full size iPod but they are all larger and noticeably heavier without the shake-to-shuffle feature but other features that are not here. But for a trip, even a long one, this one is it. Rechargeable in the car or at home.
