Sony VPL-CS3 - An oldie, but a goodie
Great little projector, albeit slightly dated by today's standards. Most of these on ebay come with the neat Sony carry case which has compartments for the cables, and these really are compact, lightweight little machines that offer great portability. I paid £46 for one in excellent condition with only 48 hours on the lamp counter, which is very fortunate. Expect to pay 60-80 quid for this sort of thing. We use ours at home for films, tv and playing the wii. The bulbs last about 2000 hours, and you can pick up new replacements on ebay for around 100-120gbp. If you're planning to use the projector in the house its important to know the fan noise is intrusive during quiet sections of films, but most of the rest of the time you won't notice it. At a range of about 10 feet it will project a 60" diagonal image, which will blow away your friends expensive plasmas and LCDs. It can go even bigger if you have the necessary throw distance. With these projectors, the image gets better the darker the room gets, but you don't need to blackout your room with the Sony CS3. We get a bright sharp image in a dimly lit room. It would also be okay on a winter afternoon with the curtains open. Anything brighter though, and the image will start to wash out. We're very pleased. Had the projector a couple of months now and have no complaints at all. I've used several of the Sony's before, the CS1, CS2, CS3 and CS4. The CS3 (in my opinion) is as good as the others, if not better. As with all projectors on ebay, the trick is to buy carefully from good sellers and you will be pleased. Bide your time if you have to. Only buy one with no bulb if it is free, or certainly less than a tenner and in mint condition from an excellent seller. Happy viewing!
Smidge That Midge Insect Repellent - 75ml

Does exactly what it says on the tin!
Used this on a recent cycling trip in SW Scotland. It goes on easy, smells okay, and is relatively sweat resistant which is good news in the recent summer sun. It doesn't stop midges approaching you, but they will rarely land on you. However, you must apply it to all exposed skin and the midges will search for an area that it has not been applied to. I got two bites, one below my sock line and one in the hairline above my ear. They are persistent devils. Handy small size for backpack / handbag/ pannier bag. I used this one can for three days, liberally applying once each day and then one further time. There is probably about 50-60% of it left for my next trip!
