  I cannot entirely fault the seller for the shipping cost and time; this is as much the fault of eBay International Shipping on shipments to Canada. But I am happy with my purchase. The listing lacked a detailed description of the book's condition, but it did contain more photos than usual and the seller responded to a question about it (and sent an additional photo). The book itself is hard to find in any format, even a badly beaten paperback, so a Folio Society hardcover is indeed a great find.
