Definitely our favourite Lavazza pod
1 of 1 found this helpful We've tried over a dozen different pods for our Lavazza A Modo Mio, including some compatibles. Out of all of them, this is by far the most popular in our house; not too weak or two strong and with no hint of bitter after-taste.

Good enough for the price
When my fifty-year-old Desmo foot pump gave up pumping, I needed a replacement. I settled on this one for three reasons: it had a bush to support the piston rod where it entered the barrel, it wasn't ridiculously small and, although it wasn't the cheapest, it was a good price.
The barrel measures 54mm by 120mm, which is about three quarters the volume of my old Desmo. The frame is 2.4mm thick steel. That's only half as thick as the Desmo but I think it'll be strong enough. The valve attachment is easy to operate and doesn't release vast amounts of air when you take it off. The gauge does work and is reasonably accurate. If you prefer to use a separate pressure gauge (as I do) you can still use it to judge how much extra air you're putting in. With the barrel being smaller, I expected to have to use more strokes per psi than usual. In reality however, twenty strokes put an extra 3 psi into my Golf SV tyre, which just goes to show how inefficient my old Desmo had become.
I have three gripes and so I can only give it four stars. Firstly, the little bag that holds the various adapters will not come off the tube. This is more of a hindrance than a help since it slides all over the place. I can see it being cut off soon. Secondly, the rubber cover is only hooked onto the tread plate and will come loose at the slightest provocation. I suggest you either glue it in place or throw it away. An finally, unlike the Desmo, the rear end of the barrel does not appear to be removable. If this thing ever dries out and stops pumping, my only option will be to try introducing oil in through the rear air holes. It also goes without saying that internal repairs will not be possible.
