Worth reading, and re-reading.
This trilogy is very well written. I've read a good bit of fantasy and this series is quite good. It's not a kids book series, but it's not George R. R. Martin levels of adult content either. Expect characters you like to die or do things that you hate. This is a crapsack world and it's characters are interesting, and the plot is good.
One of the things I like most is how layered the story is. I finished the trilogy, and then re-read the trilogy almost immediately, because little things throughout the book that you don't notice or that seem unimportant, take on vastly more important or subtle meaning when you know the whole story.
In short for me, this book was worth buying, reading, re-reading, and I keep it on my shelf as one of those fantasy books that I'm a little ashamed to admit I love, but it sits there next to LOTR, Wheel of Time, and Dune and I'll defend it's presence there to any fellow bookworm.
The hardback version is expensive, but the paperback collections are cheap. Buy it, read it, pass it on!

Great book, just make sure you buy the sequels too - you won't want to wait!
This book is one of the gems of the Warhammer 40K universe. Yes, it's the grimdark of the 41st millennium, but there are still characters to root for. Enjoyable storytelling that does a great job establishing the unique perspectives of the Mechanicus versus the Imperium at large. Graham McNeil is a master storyteller, and this book is no exception. Heartily recommend.
