Good set of deflectors

Good trap bar
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this as I have had spinal surgery but still want to lift heavy and I get periodic issues with mobility in my lumbar spine. After researching for months I decided I'd try one of these out and from my 1st lift the difference was notable in term of positioning and the neutral hand grip making the lift seem far easier. I hit a personal best on that session..
As with anything like this after surgery, you need to know your body and understand what it's telling you. Also consult your GP, physio, surgeon or whoever if you are still having issues and stay safe. I was released with no restrictions after a very successful disc removal spinal fusion to my L5/S1 vertebrae, not damaged from lifting I have to add. I do and always will suffer from stiff muscles down there so a lot of before and after care is required for broken gainers...
Like many accessories.. this bar is not a cover for poor form. Get it wrong and you'll still snap your sh*t up.
What I like about it is the extra quad recruitment. Some people feel it is like a hybrid squat. I have to disagree, the mechanics are still deadlift albeit with a bit less posterior chain involvement. This doesn't mean you don't recruit the posterior chain. Once those weights creep up, you can't avoid the old hammies, glutes and lower erectors firing, just not to the extent of a conventional deadlift but, nothing really worth worrying about to be honest.
I haven't used it for shrugs yet as I do above the knee rack pulls for my traps but I do intend to load it up for farmers walks.
The knurling on the lower bars on this are far rougher than the high handles. This may just be the item I have however, it is really notable. It isn't an issue for me as I don't mind the calluses. Your mileage may vary on that score, other than that, with the tenner voucher from eBay and a total cost of 80 quid I'm more than happy with it.. It's great for strength training and there isn't any reason you couldn't deadlift for reps more than twice a week as long as your physical health allows it and your programming is good.
Anyone deliberating over this should jump in for the win..
Gains...

Minimal gains
Used this for a month. Good strength gains but not so much size. Saw some fat loss and managed to increase weight by 10lbs.10 days in to PCT and that weight is off completely although I can see increased size to my upper body.
Next time I'll go for a more popular test based prohormone with less sides as these left me feeling rough even with cycle support.
My bench is up as is my deadlift though. Which is nice.
