Bravery under fire
Although incredibly dated, this is still an extremely important film. Its significance lies in the fact that it was produced immediately post WW2. For the first time it could give the population of Britain information about how ingenuity and bravery had defeated the Nazi threat. It may seem a different world then, but in fact the rise of autocratic regimes right now is probably greater even than in the 1930s. Will we today prove as brave and ingenious if and when the need arises?
