    Pioneer CU-CLD034 Laserdisc Remote Control
    18 Aug, 2019
    A solid compact remote.
Like all Pioneer equipment this remote is solid. I purchased it to control my Pioneer CLD-V510 Laser disc/Karaoke player. However the remote did not operate my player. Initially I thought the remote was not working but I tried it on three other players I have. CLD-D501, LD-870 & CLD-E2000 & it operated each of those players, so the remote must be fine. Now I am not sure if this remote is in fact the right remote for my CLD-V510 or if the player is at fault. The bottom line is the remote is excellent.
Midsomer Murders: The Early Cases Collection [New DVD] Reissue, Subtitled
    30 Jan, 2020
As expected a great set of mysteries.
In truth I haven't been able to view this particular set of disks yet, But I have been watching the entire series starting with episode 1 of series 1 & if this set is the same as all the other disks, which I am sure will be, then I know this will be first class entertainment. The physical disks themselves arrived safe & sound & appear to be in excellent condition as one would expect from new disks. They arrived very promptly & packaged well. Leaving me with a good impression of the supplier. The stories in this entire series are very engaging & have you puzzled & guessing as to "Whodunit". It is also fun to identify familiar faces that have shown up in other Masterpiece Theatre series like Poldark, Granchester, Doc Martin, & of course Poirot. The Midsomer Murder series do leave one with the feeling that the English live in beautiful manorial old homes surrounded by verdant pastures & forests & some do. But having grown up in England I know first hand that this is not the norm. However I must confess I do love to see those quaint villages with thatched cottages & the stately homes that permeate this production. As a young man I did play cricket myself on some of those village greens & watching these episodes brings home some delightful memories. Which for me does add to the appeal of this series. Nonetheless even if you haven't lived in or even visited these settings the stories as well as the acting will hold your attention.
