Raise mower deck
4 of 4 found this helpful Most of you might be cutting your lawn to short..... I've been in the lawn industry for many years. What I've came across is 90% of the people out there cut their lawns to short. Try to raise your mower deck between 4 & 4 1/2 inches. You going to want to measure from the blade to the ground. By doing this this will help with the number of factors. The longer the blade of grass the deeper the root system. Also with a thicker and less your lawn who will have less weeds. Try this practice for a season and let me know how this works for you. You're not going to have a golf course lawn you don't have the right type of grass just remember that.
