Tell Me Something. The Songs Of Mose Allison by Mo... | CD | condition very good
    08 May, 2019
    Really rather good
I knew almost nothing about Mose Allison beyond the sound the Who covered on Live At Leeds so he's come as a pleasant surprise. Morrison does his standard jazz vocal, but note: he doesn't sing on every track. Good album, some brilliant (jazz) playing, great singing and a canny choice of songs. Unreservedly recommended.
Yesterdays by Keith Jarrett Trio, Dejohnette,Jack | CD | condition good

    As good as ever.
Four stars simply because this group of equals created the awesome Blue Note box set, by any other metric it would be five stars. It is yet another great great trio outing and a fabulous listen.
COLIN TOWNS/HR-BIGBAND/COLIN TOWNS HR BIG BAND - VISIONS OF MILES: THE ELECTRIC
    14 Aug, 2019
    A rare treat
The album concentrates on Miles' music after (and including) Bitches Brew, most of which I'd never looked at as missing a big band. Shows what I know. Towns' writing and arrangements for the band are detailed, humerous and inventive, but remain true to Miles. I love it and I'm glad curiosity overcame my looking down my nose. If you are a Miles fan get this, it's a great new view of the music. The HR Big Band (not one I'm familiar with to be honest) are well up to the challenge.
