SP-404SX? More like, X-cellent
There is a learning curve as expected, but an easy one - at least for me. I grew up in the 80's and 90's making beats with boomboxes, making radio shows, home recording onto the early digital 8-track models, etc. In my mind, the 404sx takes that 80's/90's usability and updates it with all of the basic things of modern technology of the day. Super easy to learn and allows a lot of room for creativity. Yes it is limited in aspects, but often times limitations force you to be more creative! And I don't believe the limitations are a game changer. The pros are much greater. And I love that it's so compact and easy to take on the road. You can literally use this as a field recorder with batter power and sample things out in the world at will, if you wanted to. I'm sure there are more powerful sampler/beat makers out there at this point, but for the price and usability, it's a bingo in my book.
